How to care for your heirloom jewelery.

Your Valley Armor piece was created to endure — to be worn, cherished, and passed down as a testament of faith and legacy. With proper care, it will continue to shine for generations.

Each Valley Armor piece is a symbol of something sacred — a reminder to walk clothed in strength and faith. Treat your jewelry with the same care you give to what’s precious in spirit: protect it, honor it, and let it tell your story through the years.

14K Solid Gold

Our 14K gold pieces are designed to last a lifetime. Unlike plated or filled jewelry, solid gold won’t wear down over time — but it still deserves gentle care.
To keep your gold radiant:

  • Clean regularly with a mild soap and warm water solution. Use a soft cloth or non-abrasive brush to remove buildup.
  • Avoid contact with harsh chemicals, lotions, or perfumes that can dull the surface.
  • Store separately in your Valley Armor pouch or box to prevent scratching.
  • For deep cleaning, professional polishing every few years can restore your gold’s original brilliance.

Continuum Sterling Silver

Continuum silver is an advanced form of sterling silver, strengthened with trace elements to increase hardness and reduce tarnish. It’s purer, brighter, and more durable than traditional silver — ideal for heirloom craftsmanship.
To preserve its luster:

  • Gently wipe with a soft polishing cloth after each wear to remove skin oils and residue.
  • If light tarnish appears, clean with a silver-safe cleaner or mild soap and water, then dry thoroughly.
  • Keep pieces stored in an airtight pouch or anti-tarnish bag when not in use.
  • Avoid chlorinated water, sulfur, and household cleaners, which can accelerate tarnishing.

Traditional Sterling Silver

Sterling silver naturally develops a patina over time — a sign of authenticity and age that many collectors love. Still, it can be easily maintained.
For lasting shine:

  • Regularly buff with a soft, lint-free polishing cloth.
  • Use a mild silver-cleaning solution or warm soapy water for occasional deep cleaning.
  • Dry completely before storing.
  • When not worn, keep in a sealed jewelry pouch or airtight box to slow oxidation.

Rhodium-Plated Sterling Silver (Chains)

Rhodium-plated chains are finished with a thin layer of rhodium — a precious metal from the platinum family known for its bright white shine and resistance to tarnish.
To maintain the plating:

  • Avoid abrasive cloths or chemical cleaners; instead, gently wipe with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Remove chains before swimming, showering, or applying lotions and perfume.
  • Store separately from other metals to prevent friction that can wear down the rhodium layer over time.
  • If the plating ever begins to fade, a jeweler can easily re-plate it to restore the mirror finish.
